Yellowstone Erupts
A single supervolcano rather than the every-volcano round: the surface turns toxic, a wall of ash moves across the map, and the heat arrives with it. Underground sealed space is the only cover that works.
| The banner says | “What if Yellowstone erupted?” |
|---|---|
| Hazard type | Ground |
| Where it hits | Any map, outdoors |
| How to survive | Get into a sealed underground space — a bunker — before the eruption reaches the map. A normal building is not enough once the ash cloud arrives. |
How the round plays out
- 1.The eruption starts and the air outside turns toxic — being outdoors becomes damage.
- 2.An ash cloud moves across the map, bringing heat with it.
- 3.The surface stays lethal for the rest of the round, so anything above ground is lost.
Where it kills you: The surface at any point after the eruption: streets, roofs and ordinary buildings. Players die by coming back up to look.
What to do in the 30-second head start
- ›Find the bunker or underground space during the first stage, before the ash arrives.
- ›Do not come back up to watch the cloud — the recorded death was on the stairs.
- ›Treat the roof as gone for the whole round, not just for the blast.
If you are already caught out: Get underground and stay there. The round is decided by whether you had sealed space, not by how you move once the cloud is overhead.
Worst maps for it: Maps without underground space excepted — Jungle Pyramids has the most sheltered ground of the recorded maps.
Surviving is half preparation and half knowing the map — see the map list and the round guide for the 30-second head start.
Other disasters
The Moon Falls
The moon drops toward Earth in stages. The sea first surges in and out, burning chunks fall from the sky, and gravity weakens until loose objects and players start lifting off the ground.
The Sun Disappears
A permanent deep freeze sets in while the power grid fails. The map goes dark and cold rather than being torn apart, so the round is lost to exposure in the open rather than to one big hit.
A 500 m Mega Tsunami
A wave that grows as it approaches and drags players off the coast. The water arrives later than the warning does, so the 30-second head start is the entire survival window.
Earth Enters a Mega Storm
A storm that tracks wind speed as it builds — the HUD climbs toward 150 KM/H — and then starts roping out tornadoes. The banner's own name for the late stage is that the storm never ends.
Earth Completely Freezes
Snow starts falling and the temperature keeps dropping until the oceans freeze solid. Buildings give out from the cold rather than from a wave, so the round is a shelter round with collapsing cover.
Earth Loses Its Atmosphere
Windows break, the wind tears loose everything not fixed, the sun burns without protection and the oceans boil. With no air pressure there is no sound, which removes the usual audio warning.
