The Witching Hour
The map goes dark and black thorns burst up out of the street and straight through the buildings. It is the round the game's own Halloween crate is named after, and the recorded prompt is simply to run.

| The banner says | “What if the witching hour came?” |
|---|---|
| Hazard type | Ground |
| Where it hits | Downtown City (recorded), night maps |
| How to survive | Keep moving and stay out of the streets. The thorns come up through the ground and through structures, so standing still — indoors or not — is what gets you. |
How the round plays out
- 1.The map drops into night and the HUD stage reads THORNS: BURSTING FROM THE GROUND.
- 2.Black vines spear up out of the street and straight through the buildings, so cover stops being cover.
- 3.The prompt is RUN FOR YOUR LIFE for the rest of the round — the hazard keeps coming up under wherever you stopped.
Where it kills you: Standing still anywhere, and especially in the street. Unlike a debris or flood round, hiding inside does not help: the recorded stage description says the vines go through buildings.
What to do in the 30-second head start
- ›Pick a route rather than a hiding spot during the 30 seconds.
- ›Get off the street — the vines come up through it first.
- ›Keep moving once it starts; stopping to watch a vine line is how players get caught.
If you are already caught out: Run, and change direction rather than backing into a corner. There is no shelter that holds for the whole round here.
Worst maps for it: Downtown City (the recorded map) — dense streets with lots of ground for the vines to come up through.
Surviving is half preparation and half knowing the map — see the map list and the round guide for the 30-second head start.
Other disasters
The Moon Falls
The moon drops toward Earth in stages. The sea first surges in and out, burning chunks fall from the sky, and gravity weakens until loose objects and players start lifting off the ground.
The Sun Disappears
A permanent deep freeze sets in while the power grid fails. The map goes dark and cold rather than being torn apart, so the round is lost to exposure in the open rather than to one big hit.
A 500 m Mega Tsunami
A wave that grows as it approaches and drags players off the coast. The water arrives later than the warning does, so the 30-second head start is the entire survival window.
Earth Enters a Mega Storm
A storm that tracks wind speed as it builds — the HUD climbs toward 150 KM/H — and then starts roping out tornadoes. The banner's own name for the late stage is that the storm never ends.
Earth Completely Freezes
Snow starts falling and the temperature keeps dropping until the oceans freeze solid. Buildings give out from the cold rather than from a wave, so the round is a shelter round with collapsing cover.
The Atmosphere Disappears
Windows break, the wind tears loose everything not fixed, the sun burns without protection and the oceans boil. With no air pressure there is no sound, which removes the usual audio warning.
