Toxic Air
The air outside turns toxic. Players caught in the open report inhaling gas, which makes this a shelter round rather than a damage race — indoors is the whole answer.
| The banner says | “What if the air turns toxic?” |
|---|---|
| Hazard type | Biological |
| Where it hits | Any map, outdoors |
| How to survive | Get indoors and stay indoors. Unlike the wind and water scenarios there is no partial answer: being outside at any point in the round is the damage. |
How the round plays out
- 1.The air turns toxic outside — the first sign is damage in the open rather than a visible hazard.
- 2.Anyone still outdoors keeps taking it, so a short trip becomes a losing trade.
- 3.The round stays that way to the end — cover does not expire, unlike a tornado or a rising tide.
Where it kills you: Any outdoor space, including rooftops and streets. Players die trying to move to a better building after the air has already turned.
What to do in the 30-second head start
- ›Pick a building and commit before the banner — this is a sun-disappears round with a different cause.
- ›Do not plan a route that needs street time later in the round.
- ›Treat a car as outdoor space, because it is.
If you are already caught out: Get into the nearest interior, even a poor one. Once inside, stay there rather than trading up for a better building.
Worst maps for it: Maps with few interiors — the Golden Gate crossing has the least indoor space of the recorded maps.
Surviving is half preparation and half knowing the map — see the map list and the round guide for the 30-second head start.
Other disasters
The Moon Falls
The moon drops toward Earth in stages. The sea first surges in and out, burning chunks fall from the sky, and gravity weakens until loose objects and players start lifting off the ground.
The Sun Disappears
A permanent deep freeze sets in while the power grid fails. The map goes dark and cold rather than being torn apart, so the round is lost to exposure in the open rather than to one big hit.
A 500 m Mega Tsunami
A wave that grows as it approaches and drags players off the coast. The water arrives later than the warning does, so the 30-second head start is the entire survival window.
Earth Enters a Mega Storm
A storm that tracks wind speed as it builds — the HUD climbs toward 150 KM/H — and then starts roping out tornadoes. The banner's own name for the late stage is that the storm never ends.
Earth Completely Freezes
Snow starts falling and the temperature keeps dropping until the oceans freeze solid. Buildings give out from the cold rather than from a wave, so the round is a shelter round with collapsing cover.
Earth Loses Its Atmosphere
Windows break, the wind tears loose everything not fixed, the sun burns without protection and the oceans boil. With no air pressure there is no sound, which removes the usual audio warning.
